A big sailboat named Timoneer med-moored off the east face of Straight Wharf caught fire this afternoon. Looks like it started in the engine room. The fire was quickly put out. Captain Tobey Leske was out on the water in his boat and grabbed a few shots. Photos Copyright 2008 by Tobey Leske. Not to be used without permission-

Sailboat Hard Aground In The Horseshed
Captain Blair called me this morning to alert me to a sailboat hard aground in the Horseshed. I went down and grabbed a few shots. Thanks for the tip, Blair.
She's aground at the north end of the Horseshed and looks to be around 40 feet. Not sure when or how she got in there. She was probably trying to come in last night in the thick fog. Her captain may not be experienced in these waters or she may have lost power and veered out of the channel.
