Nub War Update 3
The latest news is that we will NOT be allowed to take scallops with a raised annual growth ring BELOW 10mm. I was told earlier in the week that the fishermen would be able to take scallops with growth rings under 10mm for the first two days of the commercial season. Sorry for the confusion.

Nub War Update 2
Just received a call from my waterfront informant who is a member of SHAB. Here's the latest on the nub war. The commercial scallop season starts on Monday, November 3. We will be allowed to take nubs which have a raised annual growth ring. Same for Tuesday, November 4th. The 10mm rule will not be enforced on those two days. Tuesday, the State Biologist will be on Nantucket inspecting the fishermen's catch. There will be a SHAB meeting at 4:30 at a location to be announced later. SHAB and the biologist will discuss what to do next. Stay tuned for further developments.

Beautiful Fall Day At The Waterfront
Spectacular day today. Almost felt like Summer. I was poking around the waterfront early this morning and then again later in the afternoon in my boat. Here are a few scenes.
Early morning down at Straight Wharf-
Cormorants drying their wings on the rocks at Old North Wharf-
A Bittern?
The Miss China resting quietly on a still early morning harbor-
And the Miss China after sunset with interesting cloud formations above her-
The Miss China before sunset with the M/V Eagle arriving-
My scallop boat in for the commercial scallop season-
Reflections-
AGM's barge and crane at the end of Old North Wharf-
Becalmed. I ended up towing these folks from the general anchorage in the harbor to their mooring at Easy Street Basin with my boat as they lost the wind this evening-
