Very low tides lately. This guy was getting his limit of scallops in no time-
Low tide at Monomoy. Notice the eelgrass beds exposed-
The wreck, Sargent, is still there off the beach at Monomoy and is still a severe threat to navigation-
A very peaceful waterfront-
Only a handful of vessels round this lighthouse during this time of the year-

Early Morning On The Harbor
Very dark these days heading out to the scalloping grounds. It was a beautiful and calm morning this morning. I grabbed a few shots on the way out.

Cold!
Cold day today. Around eight guys went out scalloping. An area opened up due to the high wind of yesterday and they got their limits in short order.
Carl Sjolund unloading his limit early this morning-
The western rigged scallopers (and one dragger) were still tied to the east face of Straight Wharf today waiting for the wind to lay down-
The sun sets very early this time of the year-
My hosting site is no longer able to provide full-sized pictures on the header at the top of the page for some unknown reason. I'm hoping this will be resolved in the future. This was the picture I was going to use for this week titled "Scalloping on a cold and grey December harbor"-

Stormy Sunday
Very stormy around the waterfront today. I ventured out and grabbed a few shots.
A few fishing boats came in at some point last night. It was the usual suspects and a few I have not seen here before-

The Miss China holding her own-
This little scallop boat almost sunk at the dock. The owners were contacted and she was saved-
Postscript: There is a problem uploading the new picture of the week at the top of the page. I'm hoping this will be corrected in the near future.
