Still Morning At The Waterfront

Beautiful morning down at the waterfront today. Clear and still.

Frankie

If you look very closely at Nantucket Mooring's barge when it's out on the water hauling and setting moorings, you will no doubt see Frankie. Frankie mostly oversees the operation of the mooring barge from the roof.

Here's a couple pictures of Frankie I took yesterday and a picture of The Nantucket Mooring Company's crew-

Very foggy early this morning around the waterfront. I grabbed a few shots while I was down there.

Fast Ferries

We have two high speed ferries running between Nantucket and Hyannis. One is the Hy-Line's Grey Lady and the other is the Steamship Authority's Iyanough. The Iyanough just came back on-line a few days ago. The north slip of the Steamship Authority received extensive work this winter and is not ready for use as of this writing. When the M/V Eagle and the Iyanough come in at the same time, the Iyanough has to lay out at the edge of the mooring field and wait for the Eagle to leave. Hopefully the north slip will be ready for use next week and nobody will be waiting around for an empty slip.

Here's a shot of the Grey Lady leaving the harbor-

And a shot of the Iyanough-

I spotted this heron feeding at Folgers Marsh this morning-
