Spring Morning

Beautiful day out on the water today. I took a few pictures while I was scalloping.

I met up with diver, Tim Mooney today out on the water. Tim gets his limit of scallops by diving for them. He does very well. I towed him around an area with one of my dredges so he could get an idea of what was on the bottom. We covered a lot of ground and found some good spots where there were scallops.

Now you've got me thinking...Wouldn't it be great to get a camera down there to film a scallop dredge in action? Granted, it would probably be too murky/silty to get any good footage.

You'd be surprised at how inefficient a scallop dredge is. I've had Tim dive on my dredges and he said they miss most of the scallops down there on the bottom. We are working on a video and pictures of a dredge in action. Possibly next year. Stay tuned.
