BUCK OF THE WEEK:
I've been following a bachelor group of bucks all summer long. I observe them every evening. There are three of them. I'm almost positive there is a set of twins in the group. They are about the same size and they never leave each other's side. They are always together. Recently I set up one of my trail cams at their location. One of the twins was very curious and checked out my cam. Deer are very curious creatures and investigate anything new in their environment.
Here are the twins together taken by my digital SLR camera (not a trail cam)

As always, beautiful pictures. What really impressed me was the shot of the twins taken by you.
Thank you, David. I study deer on a daily basis. I find them to be fascinating animals. All of my deer pictures on the blog come from my 5 trail cameras placed strategically around the island. I happened to have my digital SLR camera with me one evening when I was observing the twin bucks. They stayed still long enough for me to snap off a picture of them.
Sorry to say that one of the twins has the mange : > ). Was the Nantucket boat being chartered? Who owns that now?
