Buck Of The Week:I have several feeding stations for deer set up around the island. I leave my trail camera at them to capture any deer who visits them. In this particular location, I had several different bucks but I got a weird looking buck on film. There are a few things to take note of here. At first glance, it looks as though the buck has dropped (or shed) his left antler. Upon closer inspection, look at the second picture in the series, he has not dropped his left antler. He has an antler there. It is coming out of his head in the normal area but it curves back along the top of his head and down his neck. Interesting. Also note the notched left ear and the drop tine on his right antler. And notice his haunches poking out, ribs showing and swollen left knee. Double clik on the pictures to enlarge.

I know it's still winter, but I've made the mental leap to warmer weather. I do like the way the harbor looks with a little snow, though. I'm glad to see that you see gulls (sea gulls?) as photo-worthy. They most definitely are.

We have been lucky this winter. Very warm and it only snowed once back in December where we had only 5 inches. I have a funny feeling we are going to have a lousy spring and summer. After last spring and summer and all that nice weather, we are due for bad weather this time. Yes, seagulls. I always try to include birds in my posts. Birdwatching is a big hobby of mine.
I see the retired dragger Ruthie B. in many of your photos.She's always at the town pier.Do fishing boats that tie up there pay by the foot on a daily basis or by the night on a flat rate and who collects the money?
I believe fishing vessels that tie up at the Town Pier are charged by the foot on a daily basis. I can imagine how expensive it is to keep the Ruthie B there every day, year-round!
Another great set, Martie. The first is particularly beautiful - I like the mood a great deal. I'm also drawn to the one called Ragboat - the falling snow is lovely.
