Moneymoy Sunset 8/19/2010

I went to Moneymoy last evening to catch one of the last sunsets of the summer. Moneymoy is a great location to grab shots of the sunset with the town skyline as your backdrop.

Summer is winding down. Fall is right around the corner. There is still a lot to see down at the waterfront. Always something interesting to photograph:

A few scenes I grabbed over the last few weeks down at the waterfront-

M/V Copasetic

The five-story motor vessel Copasetic was in port last week for a short stay. I have never seen her here before. She is an impressive vessel. I went down to the waterfront one evening while she was here and was able to grab a few shots although the lighting was not optimal for picture taking. I went down the next day to get better shots but she was long gone. Next time.

Coatue Cactus

I am willing to bet that folks reading this blog do not know that Nantucket has cactus growing on it.
I discovered cactus growing on Coatue about 35 years ago. I often go over to Coatue in my boat and find the cactus. It is rather difficult to locate. This summer, I was able to see the cactus as it was blooming-
