I went out in my boat this past weekend to view the cormorant rookery at the end of the east jetty. There were a lot more birds and nests there than I have seen in previous years. And I noticed that they were building nests much closer to the waterline. I fear that these nests will get washed away in a heavy southerly wind. We'll see.

Great footage! Its funny how we all cruise past that beacon on a regular basis and don't take notice of the details. All it takes is a zoom lens in the hands of a capable mariner/photobug and there you have it- a glimpse into a whole 'nother world you never knew existed.

I searched for and cannot find a valid cormorant recipe. Seems they're not too appetizing. My work is done here...
