My laptop is in the shop awaiting it's fate. It will most likely need a new hard drive. In the meantime, I have dragged out a clunky old desktop computer from the closet. Seems to be working okay. We'll see how it goes.
Here are a few pictures I took around the waterfront the past few days-
New Steamship Fast Ferry
Brant Point Coast Guard 41 footer
Charter Boat, Althea K off 'Sconset
Western rigged dragger at the end of the Town Pier
Great Black-Backed Gull picking at the net of the dragger, Valkyrie
Black-Crowned Night Heron I spotted at the Cricks this afternoon

I brought this up on Yack, but this might be a better forum - I noticed a LOT of black exhaust from the Iyanough as it was turning to leave, a couple of days ago, and I also noticed that it spent a really long time in gear keeping itself docked, stirring up the bottom, rather than staying tied up until she was ready to leave.

So glad you're back online Cap'n.
Great new homepage photo....
Such a sad fate for that ol' girl.

Tom,
I noticed the exact same problem the other day. Not only was the Iyanough belching thick black smoke while turning around but I observed her emitting heavy black smoke as she came up on brant Point Light in the main channel before she throttled down in the no wake zone. I have always read that diesel engines should have a clear exhaust. Anything other than a clear exhaust means that there is engine problems. I'll try to get a picture of this problem with the Iyanough in the near future. In the meantime, perhaps some diesel engine experts could chime in here with some insight.
Thank You, "Jonas"
