Lone Ranger

There's a huge ship anchored in the Sound just off Coatue. She's the Lone Ranger from Hamilton, Bermuda. Here are a couple pictures of her that Captain Tobey Leske sent me today. I was unable to go out and have a closer look. Thanks, Tobey!

Last Few Days Of Summer

Summer is fading fast. We have experienced a few fall like days and nights recently. Today was probably the nicest day of the summer, though. I'd have to say it was a perfect ten. I was out and about on the waterfront in my boat and captured a few images.

Mega Yacht & Waterfront Clouds

The mega yacht, Lady Christina, came through fairway on a slow bell this afternoon and med-moored off the east face of Straight Wharf-




A lot of thunderheads popped up out in the Sound this afternoon. Some of them even had the classic anvil shape to them-





Summer is fading fast. There was a beautiful sunset tonite to round out a beautiful late summer day-

A Few Interesting Boats

I'm always cruising the mooring field in my boat and at Brant Point looking for unusual and interesting boats. I found a few recently.

The Espresso 3 is here from Palm Beach, Florida. She's a big and very tall vessel-



Not sure what kind of a boat this one is but she sure is salty looking! She's moored on the eastern edge of the mooring field. Notice her crow's nest-





Here's an interesting looking rig. Looks like a double ender to me.

Commercial Bass Fleet Off Sankaty

There was quite a gang commercial bass fishing this morning off
Sankaty. I counted at least 60 boats there. I have counted up to 100
boats in recent years. 98% of them were Cape boats. I saw around 5
Nantucket guys there. I grabbed a picture and took a short video-

Featured Boat- SanJuan 48

I met up with Captain Kirby Jones at the waterfront yesterday. One of his clients owns a SanJuan 48 FB (flybridge). Captain Kirby invited me aboard and gave me the grand tour. Thanks, Kirby!

I was very impressed with this boat. She's big and heavy. No expense was spared in building her. She felt good and solid underfoot. Here are a few pictures I grabbed from my tour.
